The fast dry methods do dry faster, usually about one hour. But, they do not get any where near the amount of soil out of the carpet as Steam Cleaning. With the fast dry method Co2 is sprayed into the carpet and then the carpet is buffed. The soil is then forced back into the carpet, reappearing days later. Would you shampoo your hair and not rinse before you dry? This is the result of the fast dry method. Truck mounted units clean all the way down to the bottom of the fibers with high temperature water (in our case soft water). As a result, the water and soil are extracted with a tremendous vacuum, removing far more soil than any other carpet cleaning method.
